Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

PCIT is a short-term, specialized behavior management program designed for young children, ages 2-7 years old, experiencing behavioral and/or emotional difficulties and their families. PCIT teaches caregivers to manage their child’s difficult behaviors, while increasing their positive behaviors. PCIT works with the child and caregiver together to improve behavior and reduce parenting stress.

Triple P Primary Care, Positive Parenting Program

A brief targeted intervention in a one-to-one format that assists parents to develop parenting plans to manage behavioral issues (e.g. tantrums, fighting, going shopping) and skill development issues (e.g. eating independently, toilet training, staying in bed at night). Practitioners provide 3-4 sessions (15-30 minutes each) over a period of 4-6 weeks.

Incredible Years Basic Parent Group

FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN
AGES 4-8 YEARS.

The Preschool Basic parenting program strengthens parent-child interactions and attachment, reducing harsh discipline and fostering parents’ ability to promote children’s social, emotional, and language development. Parents also learn how to build school readiness skills and are encouraged to partner with teachers and day care professionals so they can promote children’s emotional regulation and social skills. In the parenting groups, trained Incredible Years facilitators use video clips of real-life situational vignettes to support the training and trigger parenting group discussions, problem solving, and practice exercises.

Incredible Years Autism

FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN
AGES 2-5 YEARS.

This 14–16 session program is offered to parents of young children (aged 2-5) on the Autism spectrum or with language delays in order to promote children’s emotional regulation, social competence, language skills, school readiness, and relationships with others.

Because many group leaders delivering the Toddler or Preschool Basic programs often have several parents in their group with children on the spectrum or with language delays, some of these vignettes can be easily used to replace or supplement several of the Toddler or Preschool Basic program vignettes.

Incredible Years Toddlers

FOR PARENTS WITH TODDLERS
AGES 1 TO 3 YEARS.

In the Parents and Toddlers Basic Program, parents learn how to:

  • Help their toddlers feel loved and secure
  • Encourage their toddler’s language, social, and emotional development.
  • Establish clear and predictable routines.
  • Handle separations and reunions
  • Use positive discipline to manage misbehavior.

Incredible Years Babies

OR PARENTS WITH BABIES
AGES BIRTH TO 7 MONTHS.

In the Parents and Babies Program, parents learn how to:

  • Help their babies feel loved, safe, and secure.
  • Encourage their babies’ physical and language development.

The parenting group format fosters peer support networks and shared learning. Trained Incredible Years® facilitators use video clips of real-life situations to support the training and stimulate group discussions. Parents practice skills with their babies in the group.

Incredible Years Advanced

FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN AGES 4-8 YEARS.

The Advanced Program builds on the Preschool and School Age Basic Programs by focusing on parents’ interpersonal issues such as effective communication and problem solving skills, anger and depression management, and ways to give and get support.

Incredible Years Home Coaching

This program is a one on one home parent coach model for parents who are unable to attend Incredible Years Groups due to a schedule conflict, provide make up sessions for groups and/or  to enhance parenting skills for families who need more practice in the home. Incredible Years Home Coaching is 8-10 sessions (varies on the program).
